Introduction
Sasol is looking for a Senior Learning Practitioner to join the team in Secunda. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating learning interventions within the Mining and SHE Academies, ensuring compliance with various industry standards, and integrating training efforts between decentralized teams and the Riaan Rademan Training Academy.

Purpose of Job
The Senior Learning Practitioner is tasked with managing the Mining and SHE Academies, executing agreed-upon training curricula, and enabling the success of all Mining operations by meeting training requirements. This includes coordinating with stakeholders, developing learning content, and managing training interventions to improve employee performance and skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver Learning Interventions: Based on assessments, develop and deliver training to meet specific learning needs and ensure alignment with legislative and business requirements.
  • Learning Methodologies: Contribute to the design and development of learning methodologies for academy modules.
  • Facilitate Learning: Guide learners to apply their skills practically in a workplace context using simulations and other methodologies.
  • Assessment and Moderation: Conduct assessments to evaluate the progress of learners and moderate them as required.
  • Evaluation and Gap Closure: Implement evaluation methods to track the effectiveness of training and propose corrective actions when needed.
  • Learner Support: Provide guidance and support to learners, including those with special needs, to ensure they can successfully complete the training.
  • Managerial Role: Oversee leave management, training programs, and performance management for Learning Practitioners and Training Coordinators.
  • Accreditation and Compliance: Ensure that the academy meets regulatory and accreditation standards, including safety audits and asset management.

Formal Education and Experience

  • National Senior Certificate (Grade 12).
  • Occupational Trade Certificate (e.g., Blasting certificate or Engineering Trade).
  • Diploma in ODETDP (Occupational Directed Educational Training & Development Practices).
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience as an Artisan or Miner.
