Job Purpose
We are looking for a Shop Assistant / Cashier to join our team in Dundee and surrounding areas. The role focuses on delivering excellent customer service at the point of sale and supporting store operations to ensure a positive shopping experience for every customer.
Key Responsibilities
- Point of Sale Operations: Efficiently scan merchandise and collect payment, ensuring accurate transactions and handling cash securely.
- Clubcard Promotion: Actively promote the Clicks clubcard, enrolling new members to achieve participation targets.
- Customer Service Excellence: Provide friendly, professional service and act as a brand ambassador, ensuring customers feel valued.
- Sales Promotion: Inform customers about in-store promotions to drive sales and improve the shopping experience.
- Merchandising & Housekeeping: Maintain store appearance, execute merchandising standards, and keep the store tidy.
- Product Knowledge: Stay updated on products, promotions, and events to provide accurate information to customers.
Minimum Requirements
- Education:
- Essential: Grade 12
- Desirable: Maths 50% and English 50% at Grade 12 level
- Experience:
- Desirable: Experience in a customer-facing role in a retail or FMCG environment
- Skills:
- Basic maths and numeracy skills
- Strong customer orientation and communication skills
- Computer literacy and problem-solving abilities
