Job Purpose

We are looking for a Shop Assistant / Cashier to join our team in Dundee and surrounding areas. The role focuses on delivering excellent customer service at the point of sale and supporting store operations to ensure a positive shopping experience for every customer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Point of Sale Operations: Efficiently scan merchandise and collect payment, ensuring accurate transactions and handling cash securely.
  • Clubcard Promotion: Actively promote the Clicks clubcard, enrolling new members to achieve participation targets.
  • Customer Service Excellence: Provide friendly, professional service and act as a brand ambassador, ensuring customers feel valued.
  • Sales Promotion: Inform customers about in-store promotions to drive sales and improve the shopping experience.
  • Merchandising & Housekeeping: Maintain store appearance, execute merchandising standards, and keep the store tidy.
  • Product Knowledge: Stay updated on products, promotions, and events to provide accurate information to customers.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education:
    • Essential: Grade 12
    • Desirable: Maths 50% and English 50% at Grade 12 level
  • Experience:
    • Desirable: Experience in a customer-facing role in a retail or FMCG environment
  • Skills:
    • Basic maths and numeracy skills
    • Strong customer orientation and communication skills
    • Computer literacy and problem-solving abilities
    • Planning and organising skills
