Introduction
Sasol is looking for a General Worker to join their team in Secunda, Mpumalanga. In this role, you will be responsible for cleaning services, ensuring that the allocated site remains hygienic and compliant with Safety, Health, and Environmental standards. You will also assist tradespeople in their duties to support safe and efficient operations.

Purpose of Job
As a General Worker, your primary responsibility will be to maintain a clean and safe environment while adhering to SHE (Safety, Health, and Environmental) standards. Additionally, you will assist tradespeople in various tasks and help ensure the smooth running of operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safety: Use appropriate safety equipment and follow safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Inspection: Conduct vehicle pre-trip inspections and report defects to the Supervisor. Ensure all safety measures are in place and report any issues.
  • Task Execution: Assist tradespeople with their duties as needed to support daily operations.
  • Delivery & Escorting: Transport documentation, spares, equipment, products, samples, and personnel, ensuring timely delivery to the correct recipients.
  • Monitoring: Report all deviations and incidents immediately to the Supervisor or Security control room.
  • Maintenance Support: Assist with escorting duties during maintenance activities and conduct necessary inspections.

Formal Education and Experience

  • Education: Grade 12 or N3 Certificate.
  • Experience: At least 1 year of relevant experience in a similar role.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Effective Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
  • Planning & Organization: Ability to plan and organize work tasks effectively.
  • Attention to Detail: Focus on detail to ensure that all safety and operational protocols are followed.
  • Multitasking: Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining high standards of work.
  • Accountability: Ensuring all tasks and safety procedures are completed to the highest standard.
  • SHE Standards: Knowledge and adherence to SHE policies, procedures, and standards.
