Job Purpose

The Project Manager will oversee the end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of projects, ensuring they align with business objectives while meeting time, cost, and quality constraints.


Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Execution

  • Plan, organize, and manage projects using best practices (Agile, Prince2, PMBOK).
  • Ensure realistic project timelines, budgets, and resources are in place.
  • Lead stakeholder consultations and define project deliverables.
  • Monitor project risks and issues, escalating where necessary.

Stakeholder & Resource Management

  • Maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and milestones to business owners and leadership.
  • Ensure proper allocation of resources and optimize project costs.

Project Governance & Compliance

  • Adhere to EPO project governance frameworks and ensure compliance.
  • Maintain detailed project documentation and reporting.
  • Track and report on financial benefits and project performance.

Continuous Improvement & Capability Building

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement within project management.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices, regulations, and emerging trends.
  • Participate in professional development and training.

Skills & Competencies

Technical Competencies

  • Project Management – Apply Agile, Prince2, and PMBOK methodologies.
  • Project Risk Management – Identify, assess, and mitigate risks.
  • Project Planning & Tracking – Schedule tasks, set targets, and report progress.
  • Stakeholder Engagement – Build strong relationships and manage expectations.
  • Data Analysis – Use data insights to guide project decisions.
  • Negotiation & Communication – Effectively communicate with stakeholders.
  • IT & Software Skills – Proficiency in MS Office 365 and project management tools.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

  • Grade 12 / SAQA Accredited Equivalent (Essential)
  • Certification in a Recognised Project Management Methodology (Agile, Prince2, PMBOK) (Essential)
  • 3-year Degree/Diploma in Project Management (Advantageous)

Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in Project Management (Essential)
  • Experience in the Financial Services Industry (Advantageous)
