Overview
De Beers Group is looking for an experienced Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO) to oversee the security operations at our UPSTREAM TECHNOLOGY Inports & Paarden Eiland Complex in Cape Town. As the PFSO, you will be responsible for the development, implementation, and management of security plans and systems to ensure the protection of people, assets, and information in alignment with international safety standards.
Role Responsibilities:
- Fulfill the duties imposed by the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS) and the International Convention for Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS).
- Develop, maintain, and exercise the Port Facility Security Plan to ensure safety and compliance.
- Manage security contracts, ensuring optimal operational and financial performance while meeting security goals.
- Conduct preliminary security investigations and optimize security systems and technologies.
- Assist in the security budgeting process based on operational needs and organizational requirements.
- Capture, centralize, and manage information through CiMMs to analyze trends and identify potential risks.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to improve business performance and security outcomes.
Qualifications:
- National Diploma in Security Risk Management or Criminology (or equivalent, NQF 6).
- Registered in accordance with the Private Security Industry Regulation Act, Grade A (Advantageous).
- Certified Company Security Officer (CSO), Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO), and Ship Security Officer (SSO) qualifications are advantageous.
- At least 5 years’ experience in security management within a maritime, mining, construction, or security environment.
- Proven background in Security Risk Management, security investigations, and contract/project management.
- Strong report-writing and security technical systems knowledge.
- Experience in mining and metallurgical diamond recovery processes (advantageous).
