🔹 Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Logistics Manager to oversee warehousing and transport operations at our Springs facility. This role requires strategic planning, process optimization, and operational leadership to ensure safety, efficiency, and seamless product distribution across all markets.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in supply chain management, warehouse operations, transport management, and continuous improvement initiatives.


📌 Key Responsibilities

Warehouse & Transport Operations Management: Oversee all warehousing and transport activities, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations
Team Leadership & Development: Manage warehouse personnel, conduct performance evaluations, and implement employee development programs
Operational Efficiency & Process Improvement: Identify and implement world-class systems and continuous improvement strategies to enhance logistics and transport operations
Inventory & Distribution Management: Ensure accurate inventory control and efficient distribution processes to optimize on-time deliveries
Strategic Planning & Business Growth: Work closely with PG Group Operations to align logistics strategies, improve supply chain synergy, and support new business initiatives
Financial & Budget Management: Control logistics costs, manage departmental budgets, and develop a 3-year CapEx plan for warehouse and transport enhancements
Safety & Compliance: Ensure adherence to OSH Act regulations, ISO 9000 standards, and road traffic legislation to maintain a safe work environment
Stakeholder Collaboration: Assist customers and PG Group subsidiaries in setting up new operations, selecting facilities, and training staff on glass handling best practices
Reporting & Risk Management: Deliver operational and financial reports, identify key risks, and implement corrective actions to improve logistics efficiency


🎓 Minimum Requirements

Education & Qualifications

Matric Certificate (Grade 12)
BCom Degree in Industrial Engineering or Logistics Management

Work Experience

8-10 years experience in Operational Management within Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or Transport environments
5+ years in a General Management role within Logistics or Manufacturing
✔ Proven experience in Warehouse & Transport Management, Procurement, and Planning
Hands-on experience in implementing World Class Manufacturing (WCM) & Continuous Improvement (CI) projects
Working knowledge of Six Sigma principles
