🔹 Job Overview
The Glass Cutter will be responsible for operating cutting machines, ensuring accurate measurements, quality control, and efficient production output. The role requires attention to detail, knowledge of safety protocols, and the ability to interpret job cards and technical drawings.
📌 Key Responsibilities
✅ Operate glass cutting machines efficiently, ensuring high-quality output
✅ Inspect glass sheets for irregularities, scratches, and defects before processing
✅ Measure and cut glass according to job specifications using precision tools
✅ Read and interpret 2D drawings and job cards for accurate processing
✅ Perform basic machine maintenance to ensure smooth operation
✅ Handle glass safely and ensure proper labeling and tracking before moving to the next production stage
✅ Maintain daily production records, including quantities, dimensions, and material types
✅ Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and adhere to safety guidelines
✅ Load, strap, and offload glass using pallet jacks and racks
✅ Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free workspace
✅ Assist in other production tasks as required by the manufacturing team
🎓 Minimum Requirements
Education & Qualifications
✔ Matric Certificate (Grade 12)
Work Experience
✔ 1+ year experience in glass processing and cutting
✔ Hands-on experience using SAP (preferred)
🛠 Required Skills & Competencies
✔ Strong numerical and analytical skills
✔ Ability to read, understand, and interpret 2D technical drawings
✔ Proficiency in precision measuring equipment
✔ Basic knowledge of cutting machines and mechanical/electrical systems
✔ Computer literacy (SAP experience is a plus)
✔ Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced production environment
✔ Good time management and ability to meet deadlines
