Job Description

Fraser Alexander is seeking a SHEQ Assistant to implement and maintain its SHEQ management systems. The role involves managing Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality risks, ensuring a responsible work environment, and developing systems that align with client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Policy, Targets, Objectives & Goals:
    • Display and communicate the SHE Policy and set targets, objectives, and goals across operations.
  • Legal Aspects/Requirements:
    • Ensure compliance with all legislative requirements and submit statutory documents as required.
    • Quarterly reviews of appointments and update staff on their roles and responsibilities.
  • Risk Assessment:
    • Ensure baseline risk assessments are conducted and updated annually.
    • Assist operational staff with risk assessments and monitor claims statuses.
  • Reporting & Review:
    • Submit monthly reports to the SHE Co-ordinator and report all health-related incidents and accidents.
  • Special Projects:
    • Provide ongoing feedback on projects and ensure continual approval post-completion.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12
  • National Diploma in Safety Management

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a Safety role.

Skills, Qualities, and Abilities

  • Strong planning, organizing, and leadership skills.
  • Effective communication, training, and facilitation abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to analyze and innovate.
  • Tailings experience and a valid driver’s license required.
