Job Description
Fraser Alexander is seeking a SHEQ Assistant to implement and maintain its SHEQ management systems. The role involves managing Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality risks, ensuring a responsible work environment, and developing systems that align with client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Policy, Targets, Objectives & Goals:
- Display and communicate the SHE Policy and set targets, objectives, and goals across operations.
- Legal Aspects/Requirements:
- Ensure compliance with all legislative requirements and submit statutory documents as required.
- Quarterly reviews of appointments and update staff on their roles and responsibilities.
- Risk Assessment:
- Ensure baseline risk assessments are conducted and updated annually.
- Assist operational staff with risk assessments and monitor claims statuses.
- Reporting & Review:
- Submit monthly reports to the SHE Co-ordinator and report all health-related incidents and accidents.
- Special Projects:
- Provide ongoing feedback on projects and ensure continual approval post-completion.
Qualifications
- Grade 12
- National Diploma in Safety Management
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a Safety role.
Skills, Qualities, and Abilities
- Strong planning, organizing, and leadership skills.
- Effective communication, training, and facilitation abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to analyze and innovate.
- Tailings experience and a valid driverβs license required.
