Job Overview
The Electoral Commission is looking for a Senior Accountant: Fixed Assets to manage asset-related duties within the Asset Management Department. This role will report directly to the Deputy Manager: Asset Management and will be focused on ensuring effective asset management across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the management of fixed assets, ensuring proper accounting, tracking, and reporting.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate asset records and compliance with financial regulations.
- Ensure asset valuations, including depreciation schedules, are correctly calculated and updated.
- Assist in preparing asset management reports for stakeholders.
- Coordinate with auditors for asset audits and other compliance checks.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Matric and a relevant financial/accounting qualification (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Proven experience in asset management or a related accounting role.
- If applicable, foreign qualifications must be accompanied by an evaluation certificate from the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).
- Valid driverβs license (if required for the role).
