Job Overview

The Electoral Commission is offering an internship opportunity for a Graphic Designer. As an intern, you will receive hands-on experience and training in the creation of visual designs for various organizational projects, including marketing materials, event collateral, advertisements, social media graphics, and publications. The position reports to the Deputy Manager: Communications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in creating and designing visual content for marketing, events, social media, and publications.
  • Collaborate with the communications team to develop creative design concepts.
  • Produce graphic designs for advertisements, brochures, flyers, posters, and digital content.
  • Support the team in maintaining the brand identity across various platforms.
  • Participate in the preparation of visual elements for campaigns, events, and other communication initiatives.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Matric or equivalent qualification.
  • A degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.) is essential.
  • Strong creative and design skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • If you have a foreign qualification, it must be accompanied by an evaluation certificate from the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).
