Job Overview
G4S Cash Solutions (SA) is seeking a Cash Centre Teller based in Port Elizabeth. The role involves the counting, balancing, and reconciling of customer funds in line with cash processing procedures, while ensuring the security and accuracy of all transactions.
Key Responsibilities
Cash Management
- Manage cash bags and containers; ensure proper distribution.
- Count, balance, pack, and reconcile customer cash accurately.
- Ensure daily receipts and system processing are completed.
- Verify and balance bulk cash/coin transactions.
- Proactively identify discrepancies and report to supervisors.
Operational Duties
- Operate high-speed equipment for processing and sorting cash/coin.
- Assist in the preparation of customer coin and cash orders.
- Cross-train in multiple cash processing services for versatility.
- Track deposits into internal systems for transparency.
Health & Safety Compliance
- Complete compliance training and adhere to all procedures.
- Participate in safety forums and report incidents promptly.
- Always wear protective clothing and follow safety protocols.
- Adhere to health and safety procedures at the workplace.
Ideal Candidate
Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 12 with mathematics or accounting.
- 1-3 years experience as a teller is preferred.
- Basic financial knowledge and understanding of cash handling.
Skills and Abilities
- Computer literacy and strong communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to lift and move heavy containers and trolleys.
- Customer-focused with a security-conscious mindset.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends.
