Job Overview
G4S Cash Solutions (SA) has an exciting opportunity for a Tactical Support Unit member based in Mthatha. This role involves providing high-risk surveillance and escorting high-risk vehicles in high-risk areas. The successful candidate will report to the Regional Security Manager and will be expected to maintain company policies while responding to risks and providing effective security services.
Key Responsibilities
Risk Surveillance & Escort
- Conduct risk surveillance for various branches, responding to calls from the BSO/Controller.
- Escort high-risk vehicles to clients, including during long-distance travel (e.g., Polokwane or other regions).
- Respond to intelligence/ investigations on potential attacks, with both reactive and proactive measures.
- Identify and assess high-risk areas and provide detailed reports to the Regional Security Manager (RSM).
Road Checks & Vehicle Security
- Perform random vehicle checks, assessing risk on vehicles (e.g., safes, locks, uniforms).
- Carry out branch opening and closing procedures, including security checks on the fleet and vault/safes.
- Compile reports related to vehicle checks and procedures, ensuring security compliance.
Investigation Support
- React to tip-offs and assist in investigations related to robberies and other security concerns.
- Provide security support for investigators and conduct ATM audits when required.
Health & Safety Compliance
- Participate in developing and reviewing departmental safety plans.
- Attend safety forums and comply with safety policies at the workplace.
- Wear protective clothing at all times while performing duties and follow all safety protocols.
Ideal Candidate
Qualifications & Experience
- Grade 12 education.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- PSIRA Grades certification.
- CIT Experience and Auditing Course preferred.
- Firearm Competency required.
