Job Overview
G4S Secure Solutions (SA), a leader in integrated security management solutions, is seeking a Senior Technician to join their team in Witbank. The role will report to the Regional Technical Manager and require a results-driven individual with experience in managing technology contracts and ensuring profitability. The incumbent will oversee staff, manage daily operations, and contribute to client retention and business development.
Key Responsibilities
Management & Administration
- Manage technology contracts, ensuring sound financial performance.
- Handle contract margins, ensuring billable hours, job cards, cost control, and timelines are met.
- Oversee cash flow management, ensuring the accuracy of invoicing and documentation.
Staff Management & Development
- Coordinate staff allocation, ensuring job requirements are met.
- Train and upskill subordinates, monitoring daily tasks and maintaining motivation.
- Evaluate performance and enforce acceptable behavior standards.
Operations & Project Management
- Oversee maintenance and project process flow, ensuring successful contract/project outcomes.
- Coordinate and monitor daily tasks, ensuring high standards and productivity.
Client Relationship & Quality Management
- Schedule, attend, and minute formal customer meetings to maintain positive relationships.
- Conduct quality controls and inspections to adhere to operational standards.
- Manage customer service levels and contribute to client retention.
Business Development & Safety
- Identify new business opportunities, including growth with existing customers.
- Participate in the design, review, and implementation of safety plans, ensuring adherence to safety policies and procedures.
- Attend safety education and refresher programs.
Ideal Candidate
Qualifications & Experience
- Grade 12
- Valid Driver’s License
- Formal Technical Training (advantageous)
- Experience in Electronic Security Services / Maintenance, including systems such as CCTV, Access Control, Intruder Detection, Fire Detection, and Fire Suppression.
- Experience in compiling scope of work for sales.
- Financial Management experience related to managing profitability.
Software & Hardware Knowledge
- Broad knowledge of Time and Attendance, Access Control, CCTV, Alarms, Electric Fencing, Gate Motors, Intercoms, and PA systems.
- Strong knowledge of communication protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, CAT5 wiring).
- Basic computer literacy and proficiency.
