Job Overview
G4S Cash Solutions (SA) is hiring a Radio Controller for its operations in Cape Town. This position involves maintaining real-time communication with vehicle crews, ensuring vehicles are safely operated, and managing client schedules. The role reports to the Assistant Branch Manager and plays a vital part in the smooth operation of cash transportation services.
Key Responsibilities
Radio Control & Communication
- Maintain radio and telephonic communication with vehicle crews to track movements and ensure safety.
- Ensure vehicle crews use correct codes in all radio transmissions.
- Keep accurate log sheets for all vehicles and personnel, noting delays, blind radio spots, and non-scheduled work.
- Confirm no service situations with clients via phone.
- Brief new road crews on their schedules for maximum efficiency and safety.
Client Service & Complaints Management
- Complete client complaint registers to address and resolve service issues.
- Act on manager’s instructions to prevent recurring service issues.
- Update the code book for any client additions or terminations.
Operational Coordination
- Prepare box pre-lists and keep the box room controller informed of all changes.
- Liaise with counting house supervisors to align on operational requirements and priorities.
- Ensure adherence to all client service directives and that service contracts are upheld.
General Operations & Emergency Management
- Communicate with the manager on any accidents or incidents for schedule adjustments.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned by management.
- Maintain emergency contact details and be ready for operational disruptions.
Ideal Candidate
Qualifications & Experience
- Matric Certificate/Grade 12.
- PSIRA Grade A certification.
- CIT Competency.
- At least 5 years’ experience in CIT operations is preferable.
- Previous Control Room experience is an advantage.
- A valid code 10 driver’s license with PDP is beneficial.
- No ITC listings.
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of ISO Quality Management and its requirements.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Computer literacy, including MS Office.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent customer service skills.
