Job Overview
The Control Room Operator (CCTV) will play a critical role in monitoring security systems and ensuring the safety of all sites. This entry-level position requires effective communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The role involves dispatching guards, recording incidents, and managing real-time security issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Incident Reporting & Dispatching:
📞 Inform duty managers of incidents as they occur.
🛡️ Dispatch guards to ensure proper coverage of sites. - Monitoring & Documentation:
📝 Record incidents in both physical and electronic Occurrence Books (OB).
🖥️ Operate CCTV and related monitoring systems. - Security Oversight & Communication:
📢 Receive complaints and communicate them to management.
📚 Transfer knowledge and provide guidance to guards when needed.
🧐 Ensure adherence to security protocols and maintain discipline. - Working Under Pressure:
⏱️ Ensure that all sites are continuously monitored and covered, especially during high-pressure situations.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- Grade B PSIRA (SOB) registered and accredited
- At least 2 years’ experience in security industry control rooms
- Fluent in English
- Own reliable transport
- Computer literacy in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.) and CCTV Operating Systems
- No criminal record
- Must reside in the Middelburg area
- Ability to work independently and within a team
