Job Overview
G4S Cash Solutions (SA), a leader in integrated cash management, is hiring a Cash Centre Teller for their East London branch. This role is responsible for counting, balancing, and reconciling cash, ensuring that all processes are executed accurately and efficiently in line with company procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Cash Distribution & Management
- Manage distribution of cash bags and containers.
- Count, balance, pack, and reconcile customer cash.
- Ensure the receipting and processing of all work received daily.
- Maintain accurate records of cash and coin transactions.
Operations & Compliance
- Operate high-speed cash processing equipment.
- Track and record deposits in internal systems.
- Report any cash discrepancies to Supervisor to prevent customer impact.
- Cross-train in multiple processes to support all Cash Processing services.
Sorting & Verifying Cash
- Verify bulk money and ensure all transactions are balanced accurately.
- Confirm accuracy of inbound and outbound coins/cash from banks and customers.
Health & Safety Compliance
- Complete compliance training and ensure adherence to safety standards.
- Participate in safety forums and report incidents as required.
- Wear protective clothing and follow safety policies.
Ideal Candidate
Requirements
- Grade 12 with Mathematics or Accounting
- 1–3 years of relevant teller experience preferred
- Computer literacy and knowledge of basic financial principles
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
- Ability to lift and move heavy containers/trolleys
- Flexibility to work weekends and extended hours if needed
