Job Overview

The Bookkeeper will play a critical role in ensuring financial compliance and contributing to the overall financial health of Fidelity Services Group. This position is located at the Head Office in Roodepoort, and the incumbent will be part of the finance team, assisting in various financial tasks and providing support to operational staff.


Key Responsibilities

  • Bank Reconciliation & Journal Entries:
    📝 Prepare and clear bank reconciliations, submitting them to Head Office.
    📊 Prepare monthly accruals and reversals, ensuring accurate cost capturing.
    📅 Assist with month-end processes, preparing and processing journals.
  • General Ledger & Financial Assistance:
    📊 Scrutinize all GL accounts for correctness.
    📈 Provide financial assistance and support to operational staff.
    💼 Assist with MOS reviews to ensure accurate and timely capturing.
  • Financial Reporting & Policies:
    🧾 Prepare weekly reports for Head Office (e.g., Transport, Payroll, Claims, Credit Control).
    🛡️ Ensure compliance with Financial Policies and Procedures.
    📑 Assist with audit purposes, ensuring adherence to all company procedures.
  • Cashbook, Petty Cash, and Creditors:
    💰 Supervise and monitor cashbook, petty cash, and creditors functions.
    🏢 Manage general office and admin queries as needed.

Qualifications & Experience

  • National Diploma in Bookkeeping (5-8 years of experience)
  • Tertiary CA or Financial Degree (Advantageous)
  • Strong General Accounting knowledge
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • SAP proficiency
  • Project Management experience
  • Billing Experience
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight reporting deadlines
  • Experience in the security or service-related industry
