Position Purpose
- Ensure compliance with Transnet Engineering’s risk and control frameworks, supporting the Division’s Supply Chain Management (SCM) in meeting its objectives without exposing the organisation to adverse risks.
- Implement a standardised risk management framework based on Control Self-Assessment (CSA) methodology.
- Disseminate compliance-related information and conduct training for SCM stakeholders and end users.
Key Responsibilities
Supply Chain Compliance & Risk Framework Alignment
- Develop and maintain controls ensuring adherence to relevant legislation and risk management in SCM.
- Monitor and update compliance-related frameworks, processes, and procedures within the Division.
- Maintain a comprehensive compliance manual addressing SCM compliance risks and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor business-critical controls (BCCs), review risks, and support process owners in mitigating risks.
- Develop and provide compliance training and awareness material for SCM stakeholders and end users.
- Ensure regulatory and supervisory compliance through stakeholder coordination.
Compliance Support & Risk Management in Supply Chain
- Monitor and ensure adherence to Transnet’s SCM policy, governance, and risk management frameworks.
- Assist in training to reduce audit findings and promote compliance with SCM processes.
- Support Enterprise Risk Management by identifying, analyzing, evaluating, and reviewing SCM risks.
- Update SCM risk registers, disseminate logs, and provide relevant reporting.
- Embed compliance controls into SCM operational activities and provide ongoing support.
- Ensure SCM processes align with applicable legislation and evaluate supplier performance to minimize risks.
Monitoring, Reporting & Audit Coordination
- Conduct regular compliance audits and risk assessments on procurement transactions and contracts.
- Provide governance reviews and analyze audit reports to mitigate findings across SCM.
- Assist Transnet Internal Audit (TIA) with forensic activities and compliance reviews.
- Ensure adherence to reporting templates and deadlines, consolidating compliance and risk reports.
- Track and report on compliance performance indicators and risk mitigation measures.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education:
- National Diploma in Supply Chain, Legal & Commercial (Risk Management, Auditing, or Compliance Management preferred).
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years in compliance or risk management within a Supply Chain Management environment.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Auditing experience within SCM is advantageous.
