Job Title: Cashier (External Applications Only)

Job Description:
The Cashier will be responsible for the accurate handling of all Point of Sale (POS) transactions and documentation, ensuring that no goods or stock pass through the POS without being paid for. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining excellent customer service, handling cash efficiently, and ensuring the security of financial transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
Cash Handling:
- Ensure all cash (including floats and petty cash) balances correctly, with no shortages or overages.
- Accurately identify and capture goods on the POS terminal.
- Correctly process the payment type received from customers.
- Maintain sufficient change at all times.
- Ensure pick-ups are processed accurately and within set parameters.
- Complete accurate cash-ups at the end of each shift.
- Drop all daily takings into the Drop Safe/vault.
- Process all transactions relating to other stores’ money, deliveries, and quotes correctly.
Administration:
- Sign, compile, and file all relevant documentation related to cashier duties.
Ready for Business:
- Follow “Ready for Business” and “Beyond my Control” practices in line with company guidelines.
Customer Service:
- Provide fast, friendly, and efficient service when checking customers’ goods in and out.
- Direct customers to the appropriate person for further assistance.
- Adhere to the company’s dress code at all times.
Safety (OHSA) Requirements:
- Ensure safety for both customers and staff within the cashier’s area.
- Report any discrepancies or safety concerns to the store manager.
Security Awareness:
- Follow security procedures, such as system password controls at the till point.
- Ensure safe cash handling and transport to the cash office as required by company policies.

- Meet set targets and complete work with accuracy and high standards.
- Implement best practices and consistently deliver quality results.

Requirements:
- Grade 12 or at least 1 year of relevant work experience.
- Ability to communicate in English and the local dominant language.

- Ability to perform basic calculations accurately.
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure.
