Job Purpose
The Shop Assistant / Cashier (P27) role is designed to deliver exceptional customer service, ensure stock replenishment, maintain merchandising standards, and efficiently process transactions at till points. This is a dynamic role suited for self-motivated individuals with high energy and a passion for retail.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Provide excellent customer service to ensure a great shopping experience.
- Assist customers in finding products and responding to their queries.
- Efficiently handle customer complaints and concerns.
Cashier Duties
- Process cash and card payments at the till point.
- Handle Lay Bys and customer refunds as per company procedure.
- Report any discrepancies or issues to the supervisor.
- Ensure till balancing is accurately maintained.
Merchandising
- Ensure that stock is correctly priced and displayed.
- Monitor product availability and restock as needed.
- Maintain housekeeping by keeping the sales floor organized and tidy.
- Keep up to date with in-store promotions and ensure products are highlighted accordingly.
Risk Management
- Ensure that products are tagged in line with company policies.
- Participate in stock takes to maintain accurate inventory records.
- Stay vigilant for shoplifting and report any suspicious behavior to management.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Skills
- Excellent customer service skills and a passion for retail.
