Position Overview

The Service Advisor at Hyundai Midrand will be responsible for maximizing service sales, maintaining high customer satisfaction levels, and ensuring smooth customer interactions. This role requires expertise in customer service, sales techniques, and efficient management of vehicle services.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Maximize Service Sales
    • Use professional sales techniques to increase service sales.
    • Ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction by providing excellent service and product knowledge.
  2. Customer Interaction
    • Accurately record customer details and requirements via job cards.
    • Inspect vehicles with customers, noting damages and mileage for the job card.
    • Follow up with customers daily regarding vehicle progress and provide updates.
    • Maintain customer confidence by handling service inquiries efficiently.
  3. Job and Payment Management
    • Ensure that all jobs are properly authorized before commencement, particularly jobs exceeding R 5,000.
    • Confirm that all payment arrangements are made and deposits are collected where required.
    • Ensure all CPA documentation is completed accurately according to legal requirements.
    • Verify that completed jobs are only released after payment is confirmed.
    • Ensure correct costing based on the costing matrix and customer authorizations.
  4. Documentation and Reporting
    • Keep all records up to date, including job cards, service history, and warranty claims.
    • Ensure that job cards for warranty jobs are submitted daily to the Warranty Clerk.
    • File documents appropriately and ensure that all labor hours are recorded daily.
  5. Customer Service and Upselling
    • Communicate any upsell opportunities to customers with the correct authorizations.
    • Manage the work-in-progress report and ensure that all vehicles are monitored until completion.
    • Assist with repairs by ensuring that the service and maintenance plan is followed and authorized.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum Qualification: Matric or equivalent.
  • Experience: 2-3 years of experience in a service advisor or related role.

Skills and Personal Attributes

  • Strong customer service and sales skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Knowledge of vehicle service processes and ability to perform vehicle inspections.
