Purpose of the Job
Medirite Plus in Somerset West seeks a dedicated Pharmacy Sales Assistant to manage in-store retail operations effectively. The role involves greeting customers, handling payments, maintaining visual displays, restocking shelves, addressing customer needs, and offering product recommendations to ensure a smooth shopping experience.
Job Objectives
- Customer Interaction and Support
- Welcome customers and assist with their needs.
- Address queries promptly, escalating issues to management when necessary.
- Sales and Payment Handling
- Process customer payments through the Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Balance sales and receipts according to company procedures.
- Product Knowledge and Recommendations
- Stay informed about product offerings, promotions, and special offers.
- Suggest products based on customer needs and preferences.
- Merchandising and Housekeeping
- Organize and restock the sales floor following standard operating procedures.
- Maintain visual merchandising standards and conduct housekeeping.
- Administrative Responsibilities
- Conduct price audits and rectify discrepancies.
- Follow stock-receiving procedures and ensure compliance with company standards.
Qualifications
Essential:
- Grade 12 qualification
Experience
Essential:
- At least 5 months of point-of-sale/till point experience in a retail environment.
- Proven retail sales experience.
Knowledge and Skills
- Proficiency in computer use.
- Fluent in Afrikaans and English (bilingual preferred).
- Knowledge of payment procedures, stock receiving, and merchandising standards.
- Strong customer service principles and effective communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
