Position Overview
Twizza is seeking a Palletiser Operator to join its team in Bellville. The role involves operating the palletiser equipment, ensuring the correct stacking and wrapping of pallets in line with product specifications. The successful candidate will manage waste streams, maintain machine availability, and conduct regular cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities
Operating Process:
- Machine Operation:
Operate the palletiser machine and ensure all settings are correct for optimal pallet stacking and wrapping. - Cleaning and Maintenance:
Clean all sensors in the robobox area, pallet conveyor, and gripper head rollers before the shift starts and maintain cleanliness throughout the shift. - Board Magazines:
Ensure board magazines are full and correctly positioned during handover, so boards are placed correctly on the pallets. - Area Handover:
Ensure the work area is clean and running smoothly at the start and end of the shift. - Fault Reporting:
Report any faults or issues immediately to ensure minimal downtime. - Size Change:
Perform size changes on the palletiser as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and verify that all settings are correct by jogging the machine and checking the area. - Documentation & Waste Management:
Complete necessary documentation according to QMS and manage waste effectively.
Level 1 Maintenance:
- Perform autonomous maintenance at levels 1-4.
- Engage in cleaning as per machine process specifics.
- Diagnose faults, conduct root cause analysis, and manage breakdowns efficiently.
Housekeeping & Safety:
- Maintain high standards of general cleanliness through 5S principles.
- Ensure a safe and healthy work environment by following safety protocols.
- Complete relevant QMS documents as needed.
Minimum Requirements
Qualification:
- Grade 12
Experience:
- 6 months’ experience in operating palletising and stretch wrapping equipment.
- 1 year’s experience in the beverage industry.
