Purpose of the Job
Medirite Plus Moreleta Park is seeking a dedicated Assistant Branch Manager to support branch operations. The primary responsibility is to assist in maximizing sustainable branch sales while minimizing shrinkage and wastage, maintaining stock availability, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Job Objectives
- Sales Maximization
- Drive branch gross profit through efficient management of key profit drivers.
- Ensure accurate stock pricing and consistent adherence to stock price changes.
- Address and improve substandard sales staff performance.
- Loss Minimization
- Monitor wastage and implement corrective actions based on weekly wastage reports.
- Minimize shrinkage by implementing measures for high-shrinkage items and resolving discrepancies identified in stock reports.
- Sales Reporting
- Provide accurate, timely sales reports to the Regional Retail Manager.
- Identify challenges and opportunities, proposing corrective measures proactively.
- Merchandising and Stock Availability
- Ensure branch merchandising aligns with company standards and layouts.
- Manage promotional displays as per company and supplier requirements.
- Plan and maintain stock availability, addressing shortages through inter-branch transfers (IBTs).
- Customer Satisfaction
- Foster a customer-friendly environment to maximize loyalty and satisfaction.
- People Management
- Lead, motivate, coach, and train team members to meet profitability and service standards.
- Handle disciplinary actions and grievances promptly and professionally.
- Housekeeping, Health & Safety, and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with hygiene, housekeeping, safety standards, and legislative requirements.
Qualifications
Essential:
- Grade 12 qualification
Experience
Essential:
- At least two years of retail sales management or supervisory experience.
Knowledge and Skills
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, particularly in Afrikaans and English.
- Numeracy and Retail Sales: Strong skills in retail sales and numerical analysis.
- Leadership and Supervision: Competency in supervising and leading teams effectively.
- Customer Service: Outstanding customer service skills and the ability to handle customer inquiries professionally.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with safety regulations, hygiene standards, and regulatory requirements for money market transactions.
- Retail Systems Expertise: Proficient in branch-specific retail systems like ShopPos and OBS.
- Payment Handling: Solid knowledge of payment procedures (e.g., cash, cheques, bank cards, and vouchers).
- Supply Chain and Merchandising: Strong understanding of supply chain processes and merchandising principles.
