Job Overview
Unitrans seeks a qualified Code 14 Driver with experience operating ultra-heavy vehicles to join their team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the safe and efficient transportation of goods while adhering to company policies and industry standards.
Minimum Requirements
Education & Licensing
- Grade 12 (National Certificate).
- Code EC driver’s license with a valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP).
Experience & Skills
- Minimum 3 years of experience driving ultra-heavy vehicles.
- Minimum 3 years of experience driving Superlink/Interlink/combination vehicles.
- Proficiency in defensive driving techniques.
- Knowledge of emergency and defect reporting procedures.
- Familiarity with vehicle inspections and fire extinguisher operation.
- Understanding of vehicle loading and offloading techniques.
Additional Requirements
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Own reliable transport to and from work.
- Medically fit and a clean criminal record.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Vehicle Operations
- Prepare and operate ultra-heavy-duty vehicles for scheduled trips.
- Load, transport, and offload goods safely and efficiently.
Documentation & Compliance
- Handle required trip documentation accurately.
- Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety policies.
- Promote and maintain compliance with safety regulations.
General Responsibilities
- Perform vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and upkeep of uniform and PPE.
- Follow instructions from supervisors and report any issues.
Training & Evaluation
- Successfully complete medical evaluations, induction processes, and USCS training modules.
- Undergo practical driving evaluations and verification of a clean criminal record.
