Overview:
An exciting opportunity exists for a skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Maintenance Handyman. This full-time position is based at Pencardia Building Maintenance in Pretoria, where you will be responsible for performing a variety of building maintenance tasks to ensure the safety, functionality, and aesthetic quality of our facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tiling:
- Measure, cut, and install ceramic tiles, ensuring precision and quality work.
- Building Erection:
- Construct drywall, install doors and windows, ensuring a safe and organized work environment.
- Stock Management:
- Purchase and collect necessary materials from suppliers, ensuring stock levels are maintained.
- General Housekeeping:
- Maintain cleanliness and organization at work sites, ensuring safety protocols are followed and customer satisfaction is met.
- Job Card Filing & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of job cards for work tracking and employee remuneration.
- Report to the Maintenance Coordinator on material and tool requirements.
- Electrical & Air Conditioning:
- Perform minor electrical tasks such as fitting light bulbs and plugs.
- Conduct basic repairs and servicing of air conditioners, fridges, generators, and UPS systems.
- Plumbing:
- Handle the repair and replacement of taps, valves, toilets, and other plumbing fixtures.
- Carpentry & Building Maintenance:
- Perform bricklaying, plastering, paving, and general painting and maintenance work.
- Install and repair furniture, fit ceilings, door locks, blinds, and skirting.
- Installations:
- Install locks, safes, and post boxes as requested by external stakeholders.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid driver’s license
- Grade 12 (or equivalent NQF level 4 qualification)
- Technical certificate in a building-related field
- 2–3 years of relevant experience in maintenance or building trades
