Overview:
Lancet Laboratories is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Regional Nurse Manager to join our team in the East Rand, Johannesburg. The successful candidate will assist the Regional Nurse Manager in planning, directing, and managing nursing and other resources to ensure the provision of safe, cost-effective, quality, and professional phlebotomy and administrative services across the specified regions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Management:
- Assist the Regional Nurse Manager with annual planning processes, including budgeting, staffing, and operational matters.
- Provide day-to-day direction and management of phlebotomy and associated functions to meet organizational objectives, maximize efficiency, and ensure quality service delivery.
- Staff Development & HR Functions:
- Oversee recruitment, training, and performance management of nursing/phlebotomy staff to ensure they meet service standards and organizational goals.
- Promote staff development to ensure that employees possess the necessary skills and competencies.
- Operational & Resource Management:
- Manage resources effectively by overseeing equipment maintenance, asset management, procurement, and staff overtime expenditure.
- Optimize stock levels and reduce costs while maintaining operational efficiency.
- Customer Liaison & Service Excellence:
- Act as a liaison with customers, including nursing services and business managers at hospitals, to address service issues and promote the services of Lancet Laboratories.
- Resolve non-conformances and maintain a positive image of the organization.
- Quality Assurance & Audits:
- Monitor the correct application of quality assurance and health and safety processes.
- Oversee preparation for annual internal and external quality control audits, ensuring compliance with the set timelines and requirements.
- Strategic & Operational Planning:
- Contribute to the development and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and operational standards, including LEAN principles.
- Participate in meetings to report on operational matters, track progress against plans, and update nursing standards and procedures.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Education:
- Relevant Degree or Diploma in Nursing.
- Valid SANC registration.
- Experience:
- 5-8 years of relevant working experience in nursing, with at least 2-3 years of supervisory experience.
- Skills:
- Valid driver’s license.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Excellent planning, organizing, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Strong communication and customer orientation.
- Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation:
