Job Overview
An exciting opportunity is available for an Assistant Contract Manager to oversee the administrative and operational activities related to transportation and despatch. The role involves ensuring efficient and timely delivery of products to customers while maintaining compliance with company and regulatory requirements. The position also supports contract management processes, ensuring smooth execution and administration of contracts.
Minimum Requirements
- Education:
- Matric/Grade 12.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Logistics or Road Transport Management.
- Experience:
- 3–5 years of senior supervisory experience (experience in the fuel industry is advantageous).
- Skills and Competencies:
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of labour relations legislation and procedures.
- Understanding of road traffic legislation.
- Strong interpersonal and industrial relations skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management:
- Ensure the business meets Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as per the Service Level Agreement (SLA) with the client.
- Oversee timeous loading and despatching of distribution plans.
- Maximize vehicle utilization and manage vehicle operations, including maintenance.
- Ensure the depot operates at maximum efficiency by managing all transportation activities.
Financial and Budgetary Management:
- Control and monitor the budgeting process, revenue, and costs in line with company procedures.
- Submit monthly reports to Head Office as required.
Systems Integration:
- Integrate FMCG systems into SAP to improve efficiency.
Workforce and Compliance:
- Monitor and manage workplace discipline and employee relations.
- Implement and monitor the group SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) strategy.
- Ensure compliance with labour and road traffic legislation.
Customer and Client Relations:
- Effectively manage client relations to maintain service quality.
- Provide excellent customer service and address customer concerns promptly.
