Overview:
We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Admin Clerk / Receptionist to join our team for a temporary 6-month position based in Richards Bay, KZN. In this role, you will support the smooth handling of laboratory samples, administrative tasks, and reception duties, ensuring the efficient processing of samples and prompt resolution of any queries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sample Management:
- Sort, capture, and distribute samples according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure correct registration and logging of samples.
- Monitor progress of sample processing and dispatch in line with service objectives and turnaround times.
- Perform hospital rounds to collect samples and deliver reports.
- Customer Service & Administrative Support:
- Address administrative queries and customer complaints promptly, ensuring timely resolutions.
- Interact professionally and ethically with medical professionals, staff, and patients.
- Manage the reception area, assist clients, and direct them to the appropriate departments.
- Handle cash transactions, ensuring banking of payments according to procedures.
- Prepare and scan patient forms into the laboratory scanning system (Oculus), resolving any scanning issues.
- Operational Duties:
- Monitor stock levels and place orders to maintain sufficient material availability.
- Track sample delivery via courier to ensure timely processing and reporting.
- Investigate and resolve bottlenecks in the pre-analytical laboratory process.
- Maintain cleanliness and readiness of equipment in accordance with SOPs.
- Ensure adherence to uniform protocols and other organizational policies.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Education:
- Grade 12 or equivalent NQF level 4 qualification
- A BSc degree is advantageous
- Experience:
- 0-1 years of relevant working experience
