Role Purpose:

The Creditors Clerk is responsible for managing Accounts Payable, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, reconciling creditor accounts, and maintaining data integrity for utilities accounts.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Invoice Management:
    • Retrieve invoices and update the invoice register daily.
    • Accurately process invoices on a daily basis.
  • Account Reconciliation:
    • Reconcile all creditor accounts monthly.
    • Ensure timely payments of creditors according to deadlines.
  • Follow-Up and Query Management:
    • Follow up on outstanding invoices in a timely manner.
    • Handle queries and manage filing of related documentation.
  • Data Management:
    • Ensure accurate and timely reconciling of data for payment proposals.
    • Maintain the server and creditor’s statement folder, populating invoices.
    • Manage utility master data changes, including bank details and reference numbers.
  • Compliance & Reporting:
    • Stay informed about accounting principles, legislation, and banking requirements.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

  • Educational Requirements:
    • Certificate in Finance.
    • Matric (Senior Certificate)/Grade 12.
    • Valid SA Driver’s License – Code 08.
  • Work Experience:
    • 1-3 years of experience in creditors management.
    • Sound knowledge of accounting practices and good organizational skills.
  • Skills & Proficiency:
    • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook (Intermediate skill level).
    • SAP knowledge is required.
