Role Purpose:
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for an experienced Cashier for their Centurion Lake Store. The role involves delivering excellent customer service at the point of sale, ensuring accurate recording of transactions, and adhering to company policies and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service:
- Provide world-class customer service by adhering to Dis-Chem’s policies and procedures.
- Build professional relationships with customers.
- Report customer complaints and compliments to the Frontline Supervisor or store management.
Sales Operations:
- Accurately process purchases, refunds, and payments (cash, cards, vouchers, coupons).
- Transact loyalty cards, including accelerator partner programs (Discovery Health, Momentum Multiply, etc.).
- Ensure line voids and price changes are approved by the supervisor.
Cash Management:
- Maintain safe and secure handling of cash, including drop safe deposits.
- Restrict usage of your till code and password for personal use only.
- Handle daily takings confidentially and escalate irregularities to management.
Store Procedures:
- Adhere to security policies and ensure all outgoing items are scanned and paid for.
- Be aware of promotions and sales to assist customers effectively.
- Address store merchandise queries professionally.
Minimum Requirements:
- Education: Grade 12/Matric.
- Experience: Minimum 6 months of cashier or till operations experience.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Strong numerical and communication skills (English).
- Basic customer service skills.
- Competencies:
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Emotional intelligence and accountability.
- Trustworthiness and strong time management.
Special Conditions of Employment:
- Willingness to work retail hours.
- Reliable transport or residence near the store.
- South African citizenship with a clear credit and criminal record.
