Role Purpose:
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is hiring experienced Cashiers for its new store in Vryburg. The role involves supporting customer service at the point of sale while ensuring accurate transactions, compliance with company policies, and a world-class shopping experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service:
- Adhere to Dis-Chem’s customer service policies and procedures.
- Build professional relationships with customers.
- Address customer complaints and compliments promptly.
- Point of Sale Operations:
- Record and process all customer transactions accurately using the Dis-Chem operating system.
- Manage cash flow and ensure proper handling of payments (cash, cards, vouchers, coupons, and loyalty programs).
- Handle returns, exchanges, and price changes with proper authorization.
- Securely manage daily takings and maintain confidentiality.
- Risk & Security Compliance:
- Ensure colleagues and customers are not exposed to risk.
- Be vigilant for suspicious behavior and report it to management.
- Follow Dis-Chem’s security and safety procedures.
- Promotions & Merchandise Knowledge:
- Stay informed about current sales, promotions, and store merchandise.
- Assist customers with product-related queries.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Essential:
- Grade 12/Matric.
- Minimum 6 months’ experience in cashier/till operations.
- Computer literate (MS Office).
- Sound numerical skills.
- Strong command of the English language.
- Advantageous:
- Proficiency in a third language.
