Purpose of the Job:

Assist with mechanical repairs, services, tyre maintenance, and breakdowns. Perform vehicle tyre surveys with corrective actions and ensure vehicles are washed and cleaned before leaving the depot.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Tyre Duties:
   • Strip and fit tyres.
   • Maintain correct tyre pressures.
   • Clean workshop & tyre bay tools.
   • Drive to site to attend to breakdowns (mechanical & tyre).
   • Perform tyre surveys and ensure smooth tyres are changed.
   • Complete tyre change slips and ensure wheel nuts are torqued.
   • Maintain tyre stock.
2. Mechanical Duties:
   • Assist with mechanical repairs, services, and breakdowns.
   • Assist with workshop-related functions.
   • Complete job card service schedules and parts listing.
   • Assist with controlling spare parts and tyre stock.
3. Workshop & Washbay Assistance:
   • Perform general housekeeping in the workshop, parts, tyre stores, and washbay.
   • Ensure that vehicles are washed and cleaned before leaving the depot.
   • Maintain high housekeeping and Health and Safety standards.
   • Follow dress code in accordance with company Standard Operating Procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Education: Grade 12 (Matric).
• Experience: Mechanical and tyre-related experience.

Skills Required:

• Ability to apply basic Health and Safety procedures relevant to work functions under supervision.
• Ability to identify hazards and manage them with guidance.
