Job Description
The Stock Counter is responsible for performing stock-takes in a retail environment, including both the trading floor and the warehouse. This role involves ensuring accurate stock management, investigating variances, assisting with housekeeping for stock-take preparation, and promoting best practices for stock management to reduce shrinkage.
Main Responsibilities
- Perform stock-takes in the trading floor and warehouse, meeting daily SKU counting targets (400 SKUs per day).
- Investigate and correct variances in stock counts.
- Assist departments with housekeeping and preparation for stock-takes.
- Ensure stock availability and accurate cross-merchandising replenishment.
- Contribute to the shrinkage committee by proposing good practices to reduce stock losses.
- Participate in transversal projects related to stock management (RTS, IBT, Cross Merchandising, etc.).
Job Requirements
- Minimum Qualification: Matric or NQF 4 Equivalent
- Experience: Minimum 1 year in a retail merchandising role
- Skills:
- Ability to work with Google spreadsheets
- Strong understanding of the full retail merchandise cycle
- Analytical and strong numerical skills
- High attention to detail and deadline-oriented
- Excellent planning, organizing, and time management skills
