Job Description

As a Sales Consultant for the Paint department, your primary responsibility is to engage with customers, understand their needs, and provide appropriate product recommendations. You will be expected to deliver exceptional sales service, maintain a high standard of store presentation, and meet sales targets. This role requires strong product knowledge, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to handle various sales processes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Apply the sales process to build customer relationships and meet sales targets.
  • Ensure excellent customer satisfaction by offering personalized advice on products and services.
  • Engage with customers to understand their needs and recommend suitable products.
  • Propose tailored solutions to customers, including products and additional services (delivery, installation, etc.).
  • Identify new business opportunities by analyzing market trends.
  • Follow up on sales leads and maintain strong communication with customers.
  • Collaborate with the Department Manager and merchandisers to ensure product availability.
  • Maintain store presentation standards, including layout, cleanliness, pricing, and visual merchandising.
  • Participate in the department’s commercial action plan and assist with overall sales operations.
  • Support the sales process by keeping the store fully stocked and organized.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum Qualification: Grade 12 or NQF 4 Equivalent
  • Experience: Proven experience as a sales consultant (experience in hardware or paint is advantageous)
  • Skills:
    • Strong customer service skills with a passion for helping others
    • Problem-solving abilities and a customer-centric mindset
    • Knowledge of pricing strategies and product offerings
    • Proficiency in English, with strong communication skills
    • Ability to manage multiple sales channels (email, WhatsApp, phone)
    • Organizational skills and ability to multi-task
    • Strong relationship management abilities
    • Ability to work independently with initiative
