Job Description
As a Sales Consultant in the Carpentry department, you will engage with customers to understand their needs, offer the right products, and provide tailored solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of the products, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to meet sales targets. You will also play a vital role in maintaining store standards and contributing to the store’s overall success.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply the appropriate sales process to build strong customer relationships and meet sales targets.
- Ensure exceptional customer satisfaction through high-quality sales service.
- Engage with customers to understand their carpentry needs and guide them in choosing the right products and services.
- Propose personalized solutions, including products and services like delivery and installation.
- Identify new business opportunities by staying informed about market trends.
- Follow up on sales leads to convert them into sales.
- Collaborate with the Department Manager and merchandisers to ensure customer-preferred products are available.
- Maintain the store’s appearance, ensuring cleanliness, correct pricing, availability of products, and adherence to visual merchandising standards.
- Contribute to the department’s commercial action plan.
- Assist customers throughout the entire sales process, including pre-sale, sale, and after-sale support.
- Ensure the store remains well-stocked and organized.
Job Requirements
- Minimum Qualification: Grade 12 or NQF 4 Equivalent
- Experience: Proven experience as a sales consultant (experience in hardware or carpentry is advantageous).
- Skills:
- Excellent customer service skills with a passion for helping others
- Strong problem-solving abilities and proactive attitude
- Knowledge of pricing methodologies and carpentry products
- Strong communication skills, proficiency in English
- Ability to manage various sales channels (email, WhatsApp, phone)
- Strong relationship management skills
- Ability to multitask and work independently
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain store presentation standards
