Purpose
This role ensures efficient and effective site management to meet safety, environmental, and productivity goals. The Operations Supervisor will assist management with daily operations and contribute to the success of the site.
Key Responsibilities
Business / Functional Management
- Execute operational and technical tasks in line with organizational directives.
- Support business initiatives as required.
Financial, Commercial, and Contracts Management
- Work with materials and equipment in a cost-effective manner.
- Ensure compliance with material usage requirements.
Risk Management and Compliance (Including ESG)
- Adhere to SHEQ policies, procedures, and legislation.
- Meet all reporting and compliance requirements.
Stakeholder Management
- Maintain professional interaction with stakeholders.
- Collaborate with site support functions and head office for seamless operations.
- Engage with project peers and seniors to achieve objectives.
Operations and Project Management
- Contribute to daily/shift work planning and scheduling.
- Execute and supervise operational tasks to meet project goals.
Management Operating Systems and Reporting
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation on-site.
- Record and submit near-miss incidents weekly.
Technical Management
- Adhere to technical standards and work methods per organizational and client policies.
- Verify that materials and work meet specifications.
SHEQ Management
- Maintain safety and quality standards for materials and work on-site.
- Document the condition of equipment arriving on-site, including photographs.
People Management
- Lead, guide, and coach the team.
Culture and Climate
- Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
- Align with client culture as directed by management.
Qualifications
- Degree in Civil Engineering or B.Tech in Civil Engineering.
Experience
- 1–2 years of experience in tailings deposition within a mining, tailings, or construction environment.
