Responsibilities

  • Contact customers via phone to collect overdue payments.
  • Negotiate payment plans and resolve payment issues with customers.
  • Build rapport with customers using effective communication to encourage payment.
  • Maintain clear and concise documentation of all customer communications.
  • Achieve and exceed daily, weekly, and monthly collection targets to earn commission.
  • Work independently while maintaining regular communication with the team leader or manager.
  • Follow up on customer commitments and payment promises.
  • Escalate challenging collection cases to supervisors when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with all collection laws and regulations.

Job Requirements

Educational Background:

  • Grade 12 (mandatory).
  • Tertiary qualification (advantageous).

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year in collections or customer service (preferred).

Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Capable of working independently to meet and exceed collection targets.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle difficult situations with tact and professionalism.
  • Familiarity with collection laws and regulations (advantageous).

Technical Requirements:

  • Proficient in computer use (mandatory).
  • Reliable internet connection and a quiet workspace for remote work.

Working Conditions

  • Environment: Remote work; candidates must provide their own workspace.
  • Role Type: Commission-based.
  • Physical Requirements: Prolonged sitting and use of a headset or phone.
