Role Purpose

The Healthcare Consultant will manage a portfolio of clients, facilitating meetings, resolving queries, and providing advice on Medical Scheme benefits. The role includes being the lead consultant for smaller client portfolios under the guidance of a Senior or Principal Consultant.


Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
  • Regulatory Exam (RE).
  • FAIS accreditation.

Experience:

  • 3–5 years’ experience in Medical Scheme consulting.
  • In-depth knowledge of the healthcare industry and Medical Schemes Act.
  • Familiarity with the broader Employee Benefits landscape.

Key Responsibilities

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and service providers.
  • Schedule and facilitate quarterly client meetings.
  • Ensure prompt resolution of client queries.
  • Oversee client deliverables and SLA adherence.

Service Excellence:

  • Deliver consistent, high-quality service to ensure client satisfaction and retention.
  • Prepare agendas, minutes, and file notes for meetings.
  • Assist with commission calculations and business installations.

Client-Centric Engagement:

  • Provide accurate, up-to-date advice and solutions tailored to clients’ needs.
  • Track and measure client deliverables, ensuring timely follow-up on leads.
  • Identify opportunities for cross-selling and business growth.

Operational Support:

  • Prepare educational and marketing materials for consulting services.
  • Facilitate option changes during year-end arrangements.
  • Ensure all documentation and presentations are accurate and high-quality.

Team Collaboration and Self-Development:

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior consultants.
  • Foster collaboration and participate in change initiatives.
  • Continuously develop professional and industry knowledge.

Financial Management:

  • Identify cost-effective solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Manage financial and reputational risks associated with client interactions.
