Assistant Store Manager – Mr Price (Table Bay Mall, Cape Town)
Location: Table Bay Mall, Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa
Job Purpose
Support the Store Manager in overseeing daily operations, achieving sales targets, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
1. Stock Management
- Accurately receive, unpack, and merchandise stock to replenish the sales floor.
- Monitor and manage stock levels to prevent risks like stock loss and ensure adequate stock availability.
- Maintain the stockroom according to housekeeping standards.
- Authorize stock write-offs, breakages, recalls, and returns.
2. Sales Growth & Profitability
- Analyze sales and profitability reports to develop and execute operational action plans.
- Monitor store expenditure and collaborate on initiatives to improve sales performance.
- Identify and propose new opportunities to drive sales growth and enhance brand visibility.
3. Risk Management
- Conduct compliance checks to ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
4. Customer Experience Management
- Implement and oversee customer experience processes to meet and exceed service standards.
5. Leadership & Development
- Lead and motivate the store team to achieve KPIs and align with company values.
- Identify and address training, coaching, and development needs, with an emphasis on talent management and succession planning.
- Oversee recruitment, performance management, and adherence to company policies.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: Matric/Grade 12.
- Experience: 2-3 years in a Supervisory/Assistant Store Manager role, preferably in a retail environment.
- Skills:
- Understanding of sales and service management.
- Proficiency in budgeting and MS Office.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
- In-depth knowledge of retail trade, brand dynamics, customer engagement, and product management.
