General Worker

About the Role
Our client, Display Wine, is seeking a proactive and dedicated General Worker to support operations across various departments. This role plays a vital part in ensuring productivity and efficiency by performing manual labor, assisting specialized tradespeople, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities
1. Cleaning and Maintenance
- Ensure equipment is clean and in working condition.
- Perform workshop cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing.
2. Carrying, Loading, and Unloading
- Handle and transport heavy items such as boxes and pallets.
- Load and unload goods from delivery trucks.
- Assist with inventory management to ensure items are correctly loaded or stored.
3. Support Specialized Tradespeople
- Assist carpenters and other tradespeople with tasks and projects.
- Follow written and verbal instructions from tradespeople.
- Help with the installation of structures and fixtures.
4. Compliance and Safety
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents.
- Maintain workshop safety standards and inform supervisors of any defects or issues.
- Conduct basic maintenance on tools and equipment.
5. Warehouse Assistance
- Operate basic hand tools as required.
- Perform manual tasks such as packing, weighing, and organizing items.
6. Carpentry Tasks
- Assist carpenters with measuring, cutting, shaping, and sanding materials.
- Prepare and assemble materials for production, including gluing and jointing.
- Support the installation of finished products.
7. Material and Equipment Handling
- Work with materials such as wood and aluminum.
- Use manufacturing equipment like saws, sanders, and moulders.
Requirements
- Education: Matric certificate.
- Language: Ability to read and write in English.
- Skills:
- Ability to read a tape measure.
- Experience in carpentry, joinery, or manufacturing (desirable).
- Licenses: Valid driver’s license.
