About the Role:
The Storeperson is responsible for managing stock in the fridges, freezers, dry store, and chemical store, ensuring compliance with company standards regarding portion sizes, storage, and stock security.
Key Responsibilities:
Stock Management:
- Order goods and supplies to maintain maximum and minimum stock levels.
- Coordinate with senior managers for orders exceeding financial parameters.
- Order only through approved suppliers; obtain approval for alternate sources if needed.
- Ensure goods received match the quality, quantity, and price ordered.
Storage and Rotation:
- Ensure correct storage of items based on temperature, humidity, and shelf life.
- Maintain proper stock rotation using a first-in, first-out approach.
- Prevent storage of food items on the floor.
Issuance and Documentation:
- Issue items against requisitions only; ensure proper documentation and signatures for all stock movement.
- Ensure accurate completion of all administrative tasks related to deliveries, stock issues, and discrepancies.
Security and Compliance:
- Maximize security of all storeroom areas; restrict access to authorized personnel only.
- Report and handle spoilage or damage as per company procedures.
Inventory and Reporting:
- Conduct regular stock counts at prescribed intervals and complete related administration promptly.
- Attend required meetings or training sessions.
Skills and Competencies Required:
- Enjoy practical and methodical tasks.
- Honest and reliable.
- Good personal hygiene.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Physically capable of standing, bending, and lifting items (20-30kg).
Qualifications:
- Minimum age: 18 years.
- Completed at least Standard 10 / secondary education.
