About the Role:
The Cook ensures that all ingredients are prepared and organized (“mise en place”) before production, maintains a clean work environment, and contributes to the high standards of food preparation and presentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Food Preparation & Delivery:
- Prepare and present food adhering to quality and hygiene standards.
- Maintain correct portion control to meet business guidelines.
- Deliver food promptly to ensure customer satisfaction.
Team Collaboration:
- Work effectively as part of a team, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.
- Assist in menu planning and stock control as needed.
Hygiene & Standards:
- Maintain a clean and organized working station.
- Uphold business standards for hygiene and quality at all times.
Innovation & Flexibility:
- Stay informed about food trends and best practices.
- Be flexible and willing to work overtime when required.
Skills and Competencies Required:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer literacy.
- Organizational and planning skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
- Strong culinary skills with an emphasis on quality and presentation.
- Customer service orientation.
Qualifications:
- Matric certificate.
- 1-2 years of proven cooking experience in a similar role.
- Culinary qualification is advantageous.
