Position Overview:

We are seeking a Junior Credit Risk Analyst to join our global Credit Risk team, focusing on the Metals Division in Johannesburg. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on credit risk analysis, financial data evaluation, and macroeconomic reporting in a global environment. You will be responsible for producing and validating credit risk reports and providing key financial insights to senior management and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis, including the review of counterparties using in-house scoring models and providing advice on credit risk appetite.
  • Risk Reporting: Create and distribute routine and ad-hoc credit risk reports, including sector and macroeconomic analyses.
  • Data Integrity: Ensure the accuracy of credit risk data and assist in the development of new processes and systems to enhance reporting efficiency.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain strong communication with senior management, the credit team, and other global risk functions, providing clear and actionable insights.
  • Ad-Hoc Duties: Contribute to additional projects as required to support the department’s goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, risk management, accounting, economics, business studies, or related fields.
  • Post-graduate qualifications are a plus.

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • 0-1 years of relevant experience, ideal for recent graduates.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis; knowledge of commodities is advantageous.
  • Experience with VBA, PowerBI, or Python is highly desirable.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive and adaptable approach.
