Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for a Casual Cashier to join their team in Table View. As part of one of the leading pharmacy chains in South Africa, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring accurate and efficient point-of-sale operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Support customer service efforts by assisting at the till, ensuring a seamless shopping experience.
- Cash Handling: Accurately process customer transactions, handle cash, and operate the point-of-sale system in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Product Knowledge: Stay updated on promotions, current sales, and loyalty programs to assist customers effectively.
- Security: Ensure all transactions are compliant with the company’s security measures and report suspicious behavior to management.
- Returns and Exchanges: Handle product returns and exchanges in line with company policies and receive proper authorization for voids or price changes.
- Loyalty Programs: Process loyalty cards, including partners such as Discovery Health Care, Medihelp Lifestage, Momentum Multiply, Legacy Lifestyle, ABSA Rewards, and eBucks.
Minimum Requirements:
- Education: Matric/Grade 12 qualification.
- Experience: At least 6 months of experience in cashier/till operations.
- Skills: Strong numerical abilities, customer service skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Language: Excellent command of English; a third language is advantageous.
