Job Overview:
Henwil Chickens is seeking a Butchery Supervisor with strong knowledge of meat preparation techniques and excellent customer service skills. The role requires managing the day-to-day operations of the butchery, including stock management, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and maintaining high customer satisfaction levels.
Minimum Requirements:
- Education:
- Grade 12 (essential).
- Relevant tertiary qualification (advantageous).
- Experience:
- Experience in a butchery environment (advantageous).
- Knowledge of meat preparation techniques and cuts.
- Skills:
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform under pressure.
- Integrity, honesty, and reliability.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Stock Management:
- Oversee stock control, rotation, and ordering supplies to ensure the department is well-stocked.
- Health and Safety Compliance:
- Ensure all operations comply with Health and Safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean and tidy butchery area and ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene policies.
- Operations Management:
- Manage the day-to-day cleaning of production areas, fridges, freezers, and chillers.
- Operate the pricing scale and ensure correct weighing and pricing of products.
- Ensure all meat products are fresh, well-packaged, and ready for sale.
- Customer Service:
- Assist customers with product selection and provide expert advice when needed.
- Pleasantly deal with customers to ensure satisfaction and assist with their requirements.
- Sales and Targets:
- Manage and work towards sales targets, minimizing wastage on products and packaging.
- Ensure optimal sales, marketing, and customer service.
- Staff Management:
- Manage butchery staff to ensure an efficient workflow and maintain high morale.
