Purpose of Role:
The Learning and Development Facilitator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering training sessions and assessments for Trackless Mobile Machinery (TMM) and safety programs related to Surface Mining. The role ensures the quality of training delivery, assessments, and moderations according to ISO 9001:2015 principles and mining skills programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate learning for Trackless Mobile Machinery (TMM) Surface Mining Skills Programs.
- Conduct assessments and moderations for TMM operators and surface mining employees.
- Address unsafe operator behavior and report on on-the-job coaching interventions.
- Monitor the progress of operator portfolios (theoretical and practical).
- Attend and participate in departmental, quality management, and ISO 9001:2015 meetings and audits.
- Review and update training materials to ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory standards.
- Collect feedback from participants and line managers to assess training effectiveness and recommend improvements.
- Manage record-keeping and compliance with ISO standards.
- Ensure that resources for training sessions are available and utilized efficiently.
- Liaise with relevant departments and participate in regular meetings to provide feedback on training challenges and innovations.
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 or NQF Level 4.
- OD-ETDP Diploma.
- Train the Trainer Certificate.
- National Certification in Surface Excavation (62869).
- Various skills programs in operating mobile machinery for surface operations (e.g., dozing, drilling, grading, hauling, etc.).
- Competent A certification for surface mines, quarries, and stockpiles (blasted and non-blasted).
- MQA Registrations as a Trackless Mobile Machinery Assessor and Moderator.
- OEM Certifications for various equipment (e.g., CAT excavators, dump trucks, graders).
- Added advantage: OH&S Representatives qualification, First Aid and Fire Fighting certificates.
- Valid Driver’s License.
Experience:
- 3-5 years of Learning and Development experience within Pit Mining, with at least 2 years focused on assessments and moderations in Surface Mining.
- Experience in facilitating Competent A certifications and SOPs within the Surface Mining environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong planning, problem-solving skills, and ability to work under pressure.
