Job Description:
The Manager Deli is responsible for managing resources to maximize turnover and minimize shortages, ensuring that deli standards, processes, and policies are followed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric/Grade 12 (attach certified copy to application).
  • 2-4 years of deli experience and knowledge, or 1-2 years of experience running a department.
  • Management experience including coaching, training, and handling non-compliance and performance issues.
  • Strong numeracy skills and knowledge of the retail industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Merchandising Management:
    • Conduct regular quality checks and execute the plano guide.
    • Ensure products meet recipe specifications and are ready for trade.
    • Monitor promotional activities and maintain cleanliness standards.
    • Manage stock rotation and minimize waste.
  • Food Safety & Hygiene:
    • Maintain hygiene and housekeeping standards.
    • Monitor adherence to food safety and health standards.
    • Manage non-conformances and implement cleaning schedules.
  • Customer Services Management:
    • Respond to customer requests and queries.
    • Ensure department standards and equipment are in working order.
  • Staff Management:
    • Communicate critical information to staff.
    • Set targets, delegate tasks, and handle non-compliance issues.
    • Attend regional meetings and coach staff.
  • Administration:
    • Maintain equipment and meet general maintenance standards.
    • Monitor waste, turnover, and adherence to budget.
    • Ensure correct pricing and labeling.
  • Systems:
    • Scan for out-of-stocks and over-stocks.
    • Use SAP for reports and stock management.
    • Process waste and ensure accurate PID counting.
