Job Overview:
An opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and experienced General Worker – Cleaner to join the Thlabane Commuter Contracts team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that outside walkways remain clear and free of debris, maintaining the cleanliness of busses, and upkeeping the overall environment. This role is essential in keeping the premises clean, safe, and orderly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bus Cleaning: Clean busses daily, including after shifts in the afternoon, to ensure they are ready for use.
- Premises Maintenance: Keep outside walkways clear and free of debris, ensuring a safe and clean environment.
- Repair Notifications: Notify building management of any required repairs to maintain the safety and functionality of the premises.
- General Housekeeping: Perform general housekeeping tasks across the entire premises to maintain cleanliness and order.
- Task Execution: Carry out all reasonable instructions from the Supervisor to support the cleanliness and maintenance of the area.
Minimum Requirements:
- Education: Grade 12 / Matric / NQF level 4.
- Physical Fitness: Must be medically fit to perform the duties required, including the ability to handle heavy equipment, walk, bend, push, pull, and lift repetitively during working hours.
- Reliability: Must have a clean criminal record and be reliable, with the ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Transport: Must have own reliable transport to and from work.
- Cleaning Knowledge: Familiarity with cleaning chemicals, proper storage, and disposal methods.
- Skills:
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently.
- Self-motivation and the ability to identify and complete tasks without direct supervision.
